<>Fiorentina striker Luca Toni says that there is more to his game than being a mere goalscorer. "Setting goals up makes me just as happy," he insists.

Toni had the chance to increase his incredible haul for the season to 17 from 15 matches on Saturday night only to miss his penalty against Treviso, but the Modena-born marksman insists that he has already put that behind him.

"Things went really well on Saturday," he said, without a hint of irony. "It wasn’t easy to get back to winning ways after the defeat to Juventus and, luckily, my miss from the spot wasn’t too costly thanks to Stefano Fiore’s goal."

The Viola’s next game will be away at Empoli, who have lost their last four matches on the spin, and are looking to arrest an alarming slide in fortunes, which has seen them slump to 14th in the League table.

"Sunday we travel to Empoli and we’re all hoping to put in another good performance," added Toni. "It won’t be easy, though, because they have lost four games in a row and it is a very keenly felt derby."

The former Palermo hitman returns to face the Rosanero in the following match before the Christmas break, but Toni will be hoping to get back off the mark at Empoli.

"I want to get back to scoring goals again because as a striker that’s my job, but I don’t look to score at any price," he explained.

"If I set goals up for my teammates and we win then I’ll be just as happy. We must all remain united to reach the same objective – for the good of the side."
