There was a possibility that the 30-year-old could leave for nothing as his previous deal expired in the summer of 2005.

But an agreement has finally been reached following lengthy talks between the two parties.

Rigano, who scored 23 times in 44 Serie B games last term, is set to net around &pound;360,000 a season.
