The bad news is that Fiorentina are one of four clubs (the others are Juventus, Milan and Lazio) under investigation in the umpteenth match-fixing scandal to hit Italian football. International news is that Toni has made national team coach Marcello Lippi's World Cup squad, while Tomas Ujfalusi (Czech Republic) will also be in Germany this summer. To sum the season up, the objective had been to qualify for Europe, so finishing in the top four could prove to be a very fruitful achievement. Highlights of the season were the 3-1 victory over Milan in November, and Toni's club record 31 goals.
